Remembering Joe Fagnani

In Loving Memory of Joseph “Joe” N. Fagnani, Jr.

March 23, 1944 – November 10, 2025

Service Paws of Central PA remembers and honors Joseph “Joe” N. Fagnani, Jr., a devoted leader, steady advocate, and compassionate friend whose life left a lasting mark on our organization and the community we serve.

Joe served as President of Service Paws of Central PA, offering his time, guidance, and calm leadership with a genuine care for people and purpose. He believed deeply in helping others live with greater independence, dignity, and confidence—values that align with the very heart of our mission.

Born in Yonkers, New York, Joe later made Altoona his home and became an active member of the community. He was a graduate of Syracuse University and retired from ITT as a Senior Systems Analyst. Beyond his professional life, Joe’s spirit was reflected in the things he loved: ballroom dancing, service through the Rotary Club of Altoona, and his involvement with the Pennsylvania Council of the Blind. He was also a faithful member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.

Joe is lovingly remembered by his wife, Celia, whom he married on May 20, 2000, and with whom he shared 25 years of marriage; his children Michael Anthony Hugh Fagnani, Adrian Jacob, and Julie G. Fagnani; and his grandchildren Adrianna, Trayvon, Mykal, Mathieu, Mykayla, and Maxx. He is also survived by his brother, George Fagnani.

As our board determines the path forward, we pause to recognize the foundation Joe helped strengthen through his service and leadership. We are grateful for his dedication, his example of quiet generosity, and the way he showed up for this work with sincerity and heart. Joe will be missed—but his impact will continue to be felt through every life touched by service, support, and hope.
